प्रदेश सरकार ने भले ही मास्क न पहनने पर न्यूनतम जुर्माना 1000 अभी किया हो लेकिन पुलिस अब तक जिले के पुलिस उपमंडल डलहौजी में ही मास्क न
पहनने पर करीब 9 लाख रुपए जुर्माना वसूला गया है।
डलहौजी पुलिस उपमंडल के तहत डलहौजी, चुवाड़ी, बकलोह, सिहुंता, तूनूहट्टी, लाहडू, बनीखेत तथा खैरी आदि थाना तथा चौकी क्षेत्रों में मास्क को लेकर किए गए चालानों से 8 से 9 लाख का जुर्माना वसूल किया है।
दीगर है कि सरकार की लाख अपीलों के बावजूद मास्क को लेकर लोगों में जागरूकता की कमी साफ दिखती है। ज्यादातर लोग चालान से बचने को ही कर रहे हैं, जबकि जरूरत है इसे आदत बनाने की। वहीं ऐसे लोगों को सबक सिखाने के लिए पुलिस ने मोर्चा खोल रखा है। इस सारी कसरत में अब तक उपमंडल के तहत आते बनीखेत, खैरी तथा चुवाड़ी आदि क्षेत्रों में 1400 से ज्यादा चालान मास्क न पहनने पर किए जा चुके है। इसकी एवज में पुलिस ने 8 से 9 लाख रुपए का जुर्माना भी कानून की अवहेलना करने वाले लोगों से वसूल किया है। हालांकि अब मास्क को लेकर प्रदेश सरकार के सख्त रुख तथा 1000 रूपए के न्यूनतम जुर्माने के बाद व्यापक चालान अभियान चल सकता है। इससे पहले 500 रूपए तक के चालान किए गए हैं, जबकि गत बुधवार से न्यूनतम 1000 रूपए के जुर्माने के नए कानून के मुताबिक चालान किए जा रहे हैं।

उधर इस संदर्भ में जब डीएसपी डलहौजी विशाल वर्मा से पूछा गया तो उन्होंने बताया कि अब तक उपमंडल के विभिन्न थानों तथा चौकियों में 1300 से ज्यादा चालान मास्क न पहनने पर किए गए हैं जिनमें पुलिस ने 8 से 9 लाख रुपए का जुर्माना वसूल किया है। उन्होंने क्षेत्र के लोगों से कोरोना से बचने के लिए मास्क पहनने का आह्वान किया है। उन्होंने कहा कि मास्क न पहनने की सूरत में पुलिस ऐसे लोगों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई करेगी।
