पुलिस की छवि का भले ही नकारात्मक पहलू देखा जाता है लेकिन देवभूमि की पुलिस देश की ईमानदार पुलिस है।

डलहौज़ी पुलिस थाना के तहत, गाँधी चौक पुलिस चौकी के प्रभारी हेम राज और उनकी टीम ने ईमानदारी की मिसाल पेश की है। इन पुलिस कर्मियों ने गुजरात के सूरत से आये पर्यटकों के दो ऐपल के आईफोन जिनकी कीमत करीब दो लाख रुपये की थी, को लौटा कर ईमानदारी की अनूठी मिसाल कायम की है। जानकारी के अनुसार गांधी चौक पुलिस चौकी के प्रभारी हेमराज अपनी एक टीम के साथ डलहौज़ी के मालरोड पर गश्त पर थे। इस दौरान पुलिस टीम को एक शैड में ऐपल कम्पनी के दो मोबाईल फोन पड़े हुए मिले। इतने महंगे मोबाईल देख कर किसी का भी ईमान डोल सकता था परन्तु पुलिस की इस टीम ने ईमानदारी का परिचय देते हुए न केवल मोबाईल के मालिक को खोज निकाला बल्कि उन्हें उनके मोबाईल भी l लौटा दिए। पुलिस ने इसके लिए नजदीक की एक दुकान के सीसीटीवी कैमरा की भी मदद ली, जिसकी मदद से पुलिस ने मोबाइल के मालिक को खोज लिया। अपने मोबाईल को वापस पाकर सूरत से आये पर्यटक अहीर समित कुमार काफी खुश दिखे और उन्होंने पुलिस कर्मियों का आभार व्यक्त किया। उन्होंने कहा कि हमने हिमाचल के लोगों और पुलिस की ईमानदारी के बारे में केवल सुना था लेकिन उसे आज अपने आप महसूस किया है और वे इसे कभी भुला नहीं पाएंगे।
