कोरोना वायरस के चलते दुनिया बुरी तरह परेशान हैं। वहीं विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन का यह कहना कि अब कोरोना वायरस के विदा होने का वक़्त आने ही वाला है, दुनिया को राहत देने वाला है। गौर हो कि इस वैश्विक महामारी ने दुनिया में जहां लाखों लोगों की जिंदगी छीनी है तो वहीं बन्दिशों के चलते हर आम ओर खास मुश्किल में है। यह बयान उस वक़्त आया है जब इस महामारी के खात्मे की बात कोई भी नहीं कर रहा तथा इसके लंबे चलने के दावे हो रहे हैं।

विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन प्रमुख ने कहा है कि कोरोना वैक्सीन के सफल परीक्षणों को देखते हुए अब हम इस महामारी के जल्द खत्म होने के सपने देखना शुरू कर सकते हैं। इसके साथ ही उन्होंने शक्तिशाली और अमीर देशों से अपील की है कि टीकाकारण के दौरान सभी यह सुनिश्चित करें कि उनके देश के गरीबों और हाशिए पर खड़े लोगों को भी इसका लाभ आसानी से मिले।
कोविड-19 पर यूएन जनरल असेंबली में डब्लूएचओ के महानिदेशक डॉक्‍टर टेड्रोस अदनोम घेब्रेयेसस ने चेतावनी देते हुए कहा कि वायरस को रोका जा सकता है लेकिन आगे का रास्ता अभी भी बेहद अविश्वास से भरा है। संक्रमण और मौतों को लेकर टेड्रोस ने किसी भी देश का नाम लिए बगैर कहा कि, “जहां विज्ञान को साजिशों के तहत बाहर कर दिया गया, जहां एकजुटता के बजाय विभाजन पर जोर दिया गया, वहां वायरस पनपा है, वायरस फैला है।
कोविड-19 के समाप्त होने पर निपटना होगा अन्य बीमारियों से
उन्होंने आगे कहा कि वैक्सीन, उन समस्याओं को हल नहीं करेगी जो अपनी जड़ें यहां बना चुकी हैं, जैसे- गरीबी, भुखमरी, असमानता और जलवायु परिवर्तन। इन सभी बीमारियों से हमें कोरोना वायरस के समाप्त होने पर निपटना होगा।
टेड्रोस ने बैठक में कहा कि हमें तैयारियों के लिए, वैश्विक प्रणाली पर ध्यान देने की आवश्यकता है। सितंबर में स्थापित डब्लूएचओ आयोग, अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्वास्थ्य नियमों की समीक्षा कर रहा है। डब्लूएचओ कई देशों के साथ मिलकर एक पायलट प्रोग्राम शुरू करने पर काम कर रहा है, जिसमें सभी देश अपनी स्वास्थ्य तैयारियों की नियमित और पारदर्शी समीक्षा करने के लिए सहमत हुए हैं।
अगर हम आने वाले समय में ऐसी महामारियों से बचना चाहते हैं तो जरूरी है कि सभी देश बुनियादी सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं पर ध्यान दें, साथ ही प्राथमिक स्वास्थ्य देखभाल में निवेश की आवश्यकता है। उन्होंने आगे कहा कि हमें फिर से अपन शोषणकारी तरीकों की ओर नहीं बढ़ना चाहिए। हम सभी लोग वैक्सीन के बेहद करीब हैं लेकिन वैक्सीन को सार्वजनिक वस्तु के रूप में इस्तेमाल किया जाना चाहिए न की निजी वस्तु के रूप में।
वैक्सीन की खरीद और वितरण के लिए हमें 430 करोड़ डॉलर की आवश्यकता है और 2021 के लिए 2,390 करोड़ डॉलर की आवश्यकता है। दुनिया मे हर साल स्वास्थ्य पर 7,500 अरब डॉलर खर्च होते हैं, वैश्विक जीडीपी का लगभग 10 प्रतिशत है। इसका अधिकांश हिस्सा अमीर देशों में स्वास्थ्य की रक्षा करने की बजाय बीमारी को ठीक करने में जाता है।
