कोरोना काल में वर्ष 2020 की विदाई का समय नजदीक आ रहा है, जिसके साथ ही नव वर्ष 2021 के स्वागत को लेकर लोग उत्साहित भी है। कुछ जगहों पर नए साल के स्वागत में जश्न और पार्टी की तैयारियां हैं, तो वहीं बाजार में दुकानों को सजाने की तैयारी हो रही है। ब्रिटेन में मिले कोरोना के नए रूप के खतरे को देखते हुए लोग अभी सतर्क नहीं हुए है, जबकि ब्रिटेन से आए यात्रियों में कई लोग कोरोना संक्रमित मिले है। इससे प्रशासन भी सतर्क हो गया है और सामूहिक आयोजनों में कोविड-19 के नियमों का कड़ाई से अनुपालन करने के निर्देश दिए है।

पहाड़ों की रानी शिमला में सैलानी नए साल के जश्न को मनाने के लिए उमड़ रहे हैं। इससे एक ओर जहां शिमला के होटल व्यवसाय को कोरोना की मार के बीच संजीवनी मिलती दिख रही है तो वहीं इस दौरान कानून तथा व्यवस्था बनाए रखना भी पुलिस के लिए चुनौती से कम न होगा।

शिमला में नए साल का जश्न इस बार कोरोना के कारण रात 10 बजे तक चलेगा। इसके बाद शिमला में कर्फ्यू होने के कारण रिज मैदान में जश्न मनाने की इजाजत नहीं होगी। कोरोना वायरस से उपजे हालातों के चलते यहां बचाव ही उपाय नजर आता है। इसी के चलते ठंड के बावजूद शिमला की पुलिस फोर्स के 500 कर्मी नए साल के जश्न के बीच कानून तथा व्यवस्था बनाए रखने को तैनात रहेंगे। शिमला पुलिस ने शहर में सुरक्षा व्यवस्था के पूरे इंतजाम किए हैं। शहर को 7 सेक्टर में बांटा गया है, जिसमें 500 जवान सुरक्षा व्यवस्था के लिए तैनात किए गए हैं। इसके अलावा ड्रोन कैमरा और सीसीटीवी कैमरे से भी चप्पे चप्पे पर नजर रखी जाएगी। शिमला एसपी मोहित चावला ने पर्यटकों से अपील की है कि कोरोना से बचने के लिए सरकार द्वारा जारी की गए दिशा निर्देश का पालन करें।
शिमला में प्रेस वार्ता कर एसपी शिमला मोहित चावला ने कहा है कि पर्यटकों को नए साल के जश्न को लेकर दो चीजों का ध्यान रखना है जिसमें रात्रि कर्फ्यू और कोरोना के संबंध में जारी दिशा निर्देश का पालन किया जाना जरूरी है, क्योंकि शिमला जिला में रात 10 बजे से सुबह 6 बजे तक कर्फ्यू है। ऐसे में 10 बजे के बाद किसी को भी बाहर घूमने की इजाजत नहीं होगी इसलिए पर्यटक 10 बजने पर अपने होटल चले जाएं। सुरक्षा की दृष्टि से शिमला शहर को 7 सेक्टर और ट्रैफिक को लेकर 8 सेक्टर में बांटा गया है। इसके अलावा शोघी बेरियर पर भी एक गेजटेड अधिकारी को निगरानी के लिए लगाया गया है। सुरक्षा व्यवस्था के अलावा ट्रैफिक और पार्किंग व्यवस्था को लेकर भी पुलिस ने पूरी तैयारियां कर ली है। पुलिस बल की 6 रिजर्व टीमें रखी गयी है जिसमें एक महिला टीम भी है। क्यूआरटी को भी तैनात किया गया है।
