सिडनी टी-20 में भारत ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया को 6 विकेट से हराया। भारत ने तीन टी-20 मैच की सीरीज 2-0 से अपने नाम कर ली है। ऑस्ट्रेलिया के 195 रन के लक्ष्य का पीछा करने उतरी भारत की टीम ने पारी के 2 गेंद शेष रहते चार विकेट के नुकसान पर लक्ष्य पूरा कर लिया।

हार्दिक पंड्या ने 22 गेंदों पर शानदार 48 रनों की पारी खेलकर यह जीत भारत की झोली में डाल दी। इससे पहले ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने पहले बल्लेबाजी करते हुए 20 ओवर में 5 विकेट के नुकसान पर 195 रन बनाए।भारत की ओर से केएल राहुल 22 गेंदों पर 30 रन बनाकर आउट हुए तो वही शिखर धवन ने 36 गेंदों पर 52 रन की पारी खेली। धवन ने 32 गेंदों पर अपना अर्धशतक पूरा किया। कप्तान विराट कोहली ने 24 गेंद पर 40 रनों की पारी खेली। संजू सैमसन ने 10 गेंदों पर 15 रनों का योगदान टीम के स्कोर में दिया। इससे पहले टॉस जीतकर विराट कोहली ने पहले बल्लेबाजी करने का फैसला लिया। ऑस्ट्रेलिया की ओर से मैथ्यू वेड ने 32 गेंदों पर 58 रन और स्मिथ ने 38 गेंद पर 46 रन की पारी खेली। वेड और शार्ट ने पारी की शुरुआत करते हुए पहले विकेट के लिए 47 रन की साझेदारी की पांचवें ओवर में नटराजन ने शार्ट का विकेट लिया। शार्ट सिर्फ 9 रन बनाकर आउट हुए। इसके बाद स्मिथ ने पारी संभाली स्मिथ और बेड ने मिलकर 28 रन टीम के स्कोर में जोड़े। वेड रन आउट हुए इसके बाद मैक्सवेल तथा स्मिथ ने मिलकर पारी को आगे बढ़ाया। वह 22 रन बनाकर ऑस्ट्रेलिया की पारी में तीसरे विकेट के रूप में आउट हुए।

यूज़वेंद्र चहल की गेंद पर हार्दिक पंड्या ने मैक्सवेल का कैच पकड़कर उन्हें चलता किया। इसके अलावा ऑस्ट्रेलिया की ओर से हेनरिक्स ने 26 रनों की पारी खेली भारत की ओर से नटराजन ने दो विकेट लिए तो वही शरदुल और यूज़वेंद्र चहल ने एक-एक विकेट लिया। भारत ने तीन मैचों की सीरीज में पहला मैच 11 रनों से जीता था। इससे पहले भारत और ऑस्ट्रेलिया के बीच हुई तीन एकदिवसीय मैचों की सीरीज भारत 2-1 से गंवा चुका है। इस सीरीज के पहले दो मैच ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने अपने नाम किए थे। भारत को सिर्फ आखिरी मैच में ही कामयाबी मिल पाई थी। वहीं दूसरी ओर दक्षिण अफ्रीका और इंग्लैंड के बीच होने वाला मैच होटल के दो कर्मियों के होने की वजह से रद्द हो गया है।
